WARNING
The legal voters of the Town of Whiting, Vermont, are hereby notified and warned to meet at the Town Hall, 27 South Main Street, in the Town of Whiting on Tuesday, June 26, 2018, between the hours of seven o’clock (7:00) in the forenoon (a.m.), at which time the polls will open, and seven o’clock (7:00) in the afternoon (p.m.), at which time the polls will close, to vote by Australian ballot upon the following Articles of business:
ARTICLE I
Shall general obligation bonds or notes of the Town of Whiting in an amount not to exceed One Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($195,000), subject to reduction from the receipt of available state and federal grants-in-aid, be issued for the purpose of repairing and reconstructing the Fire Department building, at an estimated cost of One Hundred Ninety-Five Thousand Dollars ($195,000)?
ARTICLE II
Shall general obligation bonds or notes of the Town of Whiting in an amount no to exceed One Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($190,000), subject to reduction from the receipt of available state and federal grants-in-aid, be issued for the purpose of repairing and reconstructing the Public Works garage, at an estimated cost of One Hundred Ninety Thousand Dollars ($190,000)?
The legal voters of the Town of Whiting are further notified that voter qualification, registration and absentee voting relative to said special meeting shall be as provided in Chapters 43, 51 and 55 of Title 17, Vermont Statutes Annotated.
The legal voters of the Town of Whiting are further notified that an informational meeting will be held on Monday, June 25, 2018 at the Town Hall in the Town of Whiting at seven o’clock (7:00) in the evening, for the purpose of explaining the proposed improvements and the financing thereof.
Adopted and approved at a meeting of the Selectboard of the Town of Whiting duly called, noticed and held on May 21, 2018. Received for record and recorded in the records of the Town of Whiting on May 22, 2018.

The Zoning Board of Adjustment will convene a public hearing starting at 7:30pm on Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at the Town Clerk’s office to consider an application by Robert Butterfield to replace concrete steps to the front door with a wooden deck with steps and rails which requires a setback waiver.
The application is available for inspection at the Town Clerk’s Office. Interested parties who wish to be heard at the hearing may so in person or may be represented by an agent or attorney.
Communications relating to the application may be filed in writing to the Board either before or during the hearing.
Participation in the hearing is necessary to establish status as in “interested person” and the right to appeal a decision rendered in that hearing. (24 V.S.A. ) 117 Sect 4465(b) and 4471(a).

The Whiting Select Board will hold a public hearing on March 28th at 7:30pm in the Town Office in Whiting, Vermont on the proposed Whiting Town Plan 2017-2025. This notice is issued pursuant to 24 VSA 4384 (d) and 4444.

WHITING ANNUAL TOWN MEETING WARNING
The legal voters of the Town of Whiting Vermont are hereby warned and notified to meet at the Town Hall, in said Whiting on Tuesday March 6, 2018 at 7:15pm to transact the following business:
ARTICLE I: To elect a Moderator for the ensuing year.
ARTICLE II: The receive and act upon the report of the Town Officers.
ARTICLE III: Will the Town elect the Officers as required by law in the following order:
ARTICLE IV: Will the Town give the Delinquent Tax Collector the power to collect delinquent taxes?
ARTICLE V: Shall the Town authorize the Treasurer to collect real property taxes to the Treasurer on or before December 7, 2017? (postmarks not accepted)
ARTICLE VI: Will the Town appropriate $328,962.50 expenses and indebtedness of the town of which $233,689.10 will come from taxes?
ARTICLE VII: To transact any other nonbinding business deemed necessary and proper when met.
1. The Selectboard would like to discuss the possibility of a loan to build a new Town Garage and the rebuilding of a portion of the Whiting Fire House. This will be a nonbinding discussion.
